Abstract

Chronic pain syndrome in spinal canal stenosis is one of the most common causes of disability in the working population. Spinal stenosis is a source of pain in the back and lower extremities, which is more common among people over 65 years. This publication describes the classification of lateral spinal canal stenosis. The clinical picture of lateral stenosis was studied in detail. Special attention is paid to such diagnostic methods as radiography, CT myelography, magnetic resonance of this pathology. The authors of the scientific work developed a new method of MR diagnosis of lateral stenosis. A new method of diagnosis allows you to accurately identify the level of compression of the spine of the spinal cord: lateral recess, middle zone, foraminal hole. In the future, this determines the tactics and scope of microsurgery on the spine.
